PA Department of Community and Economic Development awards $89,050 grant to project
The Pennsylvania Development of Community and Economic Development awarded an $89,050 grant to the Lansdowne Theater Project in support of the next phase of architectural design for the entire theater. The development of this phase of design known as schematic is significant because when completed the Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation can pursue federal historic tax credits, additional donations and financing.
The Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation greatly appreciates State Representative Margo Davidson, Lansdowne Mayor Anthony Campuzano and the Borough Council of Lansdowne for their leadership in securing this grant. These funds are matched with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, National Trust for Historic Preservation and generous individual donors to the project. The total cost of this phase of design is $178,050. Funds will be used to secure the services of the design team that’s led by project architect Mills + Schnoering. Other members of the design team are H. Gilroy Damon Associates, Fisher Dachs Associates, Geo-Technology Associates, Keystone Preservation Group, C+B Consulting Engineers, LLC., Lighting Design Collaborative, K2 Audio and Brecker Frondorf. Work is anticipated to begin in March 2016.
