Presser Foundation Makes $150,000 Grant In Support of the Restoration of The Lansdowne

Prior to the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra’s performance of “Peter and the Wolf” on May 20th The Presser Foundation announced that it has made a $150,000 grant to the ongoing effort to restore and reopen the 90 year old landmark as a concert venue. Vera Wilson, a member of The Presser Foundation Board of Trustees said, “The Presser Foundation is pleased to provide this support for a project that will restore this wonderful building, provide musical performances and educational opportunities for area students, and spur further community support and development.”

During the check presentation, Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation (HLTC) President Robert Jara said, “The Historic Lansdowne Theater Corporation is honored to have received this generous commitment from the prestigious Presser Foundation. We appreciate the foundation’s endorsement and look forward to making classical music available at The Lansdowne.”
